Fire Door Maintenance

Fire Door Maintenance

Following a fire door survey EAL will be able to carry out maintenance on fire doors. We will always look to maintain a fire door rather than replace it wherever possible. Our operatives are highly skilled joiner’s who are experienced in working with fire doors. They will be under the direct supervision of the EAL Approved Person, who will be responsible for inspecting and signing off all fire door maintenance works.

Normally, we will do fire door maintenance under the BM Trada Q Mark Fire Door Maintenance Scheme, using BM Trada Approved Repair Techniques (ART’s) in accordance with the Q Mark scheme requirements. However, in some instances such as heritage buildings it may not be possible to use the ART’s so agreement will be reached with the client on the most appropriate remedial action to take.

Clients will be provided with very robust supporting documentation so they can assured that the work has been carried out satisfactorily by a competent person using the correct products. The documentation includes –

  • Fire test evidence; global assessments etc for the products used.

  • Manufacturer’s installation/maintenance documents.

  • Product data sheets.

  • A record of maintenance activities (RMA) form listing all fire doors and the specific remedial actions (including photographs of before, during and after the maintenance work).

  • Each maintained door will have a traceable label which links the door to the RMA form.

Fire Door Maintenance costs are very competitive. Please get in touch for a bespoke quotation, which will be provided within 24 hours of any enquiry.
